RE: Does Gulfstream make a good trailer?

the best thing about this sight is you can go back and see what folks have posted in the past,,,, soren with your keen eye on quality i see you bought a fleetwood product,,, and it had to go back to the factory and be lifted off the frame and be rebuilt??? hummmm,,,, they didnt replace it??? at least Keith got a new unit when his GS was a bad one,,,, and with fleetwoods stocks at the lowest on the market and 1,000,000's do at the end of the year, might want to get what ever need fixed now as for Mike i dont see any posts on the issues you had with your unit till now??? but glad you got your issues taken care of, warranty can be a problem with out a local dealer, I know our first unit a jayco fold down, had many of them. I have yet to find that perfect manufacture, when you find it let me know,,,,

RE: Does Gulfstream make a good trailer?

I also have looked at shows and seen many brands with issues,,,, but to say GS is the worst, your not looking very well or need glasses,,,,, as for the poster, ask the folks that own one, every thing else is hearsay if you look back on post this year you will see very few about Gulf Stream, but many on Jayco from floors cracking to wrong axles installed and frames bending, but does that make all of them junk,,,, NO,,, all manufactures will have issues, but some on here just like to bash a unit that they really don't know anything about or have never owned. do your self a favor look at the units and make your choice your self, its your money,,,,, the thing about the net. is you can go to one sight like this one and brand X is the best there is and go to another sight and its the worst??? a good comparison is go to rvusa.com and ask about Gulf Stream you will find that GS is on the top of the list but forest river is bashed hard so is jayco, why i have no idea, but they do allow dealers to post on that sight, so you will get another view point that this sight wont allow. I have owned many brands in my day some have been good and some very bad. My Gulf Breeze 29bhs has been one of the best units i have owned,,,but I would say is the dealer you choose is more important than the brand, they are the ones that will take care of you and make sure your happy after the sale

RE: Opinions on Amerilite brand

one you might look into is the Equalizer E2 it has 2-point sway control and is a nice unit for smaller and lighter travel trailers, I seen one the other day at my dealer, looked very nice and easy to use. thought he said it ran $350.00 might even find it cheaper on the net. get the prodigy brake control and get some camping in this year,,,,,,

RE: Opinions on Amerilite brand

dealer prep should be checking for gas leaks, starting all appliances, checking water system , basically a shake down on the whole unit,

RE: travel trailers

I see a lot of folks commenting on how bad the fiberglass delaminates ,but know one states the brand? there are 3 ways of building a fiberglass side wall 1) pinch roll, cheapest and most commonly used but not the best way 2) vacuum bonded, expensive to build but the most reliable there is a 3rd way, hung fiberglass but i would run from this, most manufacture don't use it any more I always get a big laugh when someone states that ALL fiberglass sided units are bad, if this was true you would not see as many of them as you do and most communally used on all high end units. As others have stated, its water leaking in that causes the delamination problem and lack of maintenance being the biggest cause.
